Vessel Inspector & Compliance Coordinator

The Vessel Inspector & Compliance Coordinator is accountable for the inspection of vessels, identifying compliance issues, and assisting with resolution of identified issues in alignment with company standards, best practices, government regulations, and customer requirements.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Inspects towboats and crew boats
  • Assess and report on all conditions found in audit in alignment with company’s standards, customer requirements, best practices, and applicable government regulation (U.S. Coast Guard, Sub Chapter M, etc.)
  • Reviews logs and maintenance data to ensure efficient operation and adherence to maintenance and safety standards/requirements
  • Enters inspection findings and non-compliance data into dedicated computer program(s)
  • Will follow written audit guidelines where available
  • Composes and reviews training standards
  • Ensures crew training statuses are current to position as required by the company training matrix
  • Assists management with development of policies and procedures as requested.
  • Responds to inquiries or complaints from clients and regulatory agencies as directed
  • Compiles information and performs edits to compliance manuals as directed
  • Lectures at Captain and Deckhand meetings; Prepares compliance briefings and PowerPoint presentations as needed
  • Works independently to complete tasks and assignments within designated areas of responsibility
  • Driving to/from job site/inspection sites
  • Must have regular, reliable attendance
  • Additional duties as assigned
