About this program:
The state of Tabasco is located in the southeast of Mexico. Its principal resource is oil when it was first discovered in 1921 and is one of the mainstays of its economy.

Our featured speaker Mr. Octavio Miranda will provide our guests with his thoughts and guidance on new opportunities and establishing introductions to public and private sector professionals in Tabasco.
About the Speaker:

Mr. Octavio Miranda is a recognized management, legal and environment professional in Mexico?s oil & gas industry. His professional network includes working with private and public business executives including PEMEX (Petróleos Mexicanos), the Mexican state/owned petroleum company. PEMEX is Latin America?s second largest enterprise. He currently with CANEPA Consultores to promote opportunities in Tabasco for international companies and support the state in internationalization and liaison.
Mr. Miranda served as an officer in the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the state of Tabasco. A sample of his work includes projects with the Interamerican Development Bank and the World Bank. He has worked for the Organization of American States as an Environmental Law, Policy and Good Governance senior consultant.
Moderated by Ms. Gloria Garcia:

Ms. Gloria Garcia has had a very dynamic international career, participating in several business projects that involve marketing, business and trade in Latin America, USA, Europe, and Asia. She has managed more than 200 projects for 15 different governments with more than 15 years? experience in global business. She has worked for several international trade organizations in more than four countries: the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at the Economic Promotion Directorate; for International Trade Center (UNCTAD) in the department of Export Promotion Organizations; for the World Trade Organization at the Trade Policy Review Division; as well as for the European Commission in the Unit of Implementation and Negotiation of Free Trade Agreements for the Mexican Ministry of Economy in Geneva and the Mexican Commercial Office in Tokyo (BANCOMEXT). In the private sector, she had occupied important positions in the American Chamber of Commerce of Mexico as Program Development Manager and in British Petroleum HSSE National Manager.
Ms. Garcia completed an Executive program at Harvard Business School, has commenced her PhD studies in Business and Trade Promotion. She has an MSC Degree in Economic Development and International Trade from the United Kingdom; the degree of European Specialist at ITAM and honors B.A. in International Trade at ITESM.
