ABOUT THE TRADE MISSION: (revised format, read more below)
In light of the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, and with consideration for the safety of all trade mission participants, the governments of the organizing states, Consulate of Mexico, and partners have arrived at a consensus that it is prudent to modify the format of the trade mission scheduled for January 2021. To maintain the momentum of the mission, a virtual component will occur in January; this will lay the foundation for the in-person mission to occur at a date and time to be determined.
The revised plan for the mission is as follows:
January 11-15, 2021: Virtual meetings only. All registered participants, will be able to participate in business matchmaking meetings in a virtual environment. If you have not submitted your Company/Organization Profile, please do so using the link provided below. Once your profile is submitted, you will be contacted to begin the meeting matchmaking process.
SBA eligible companies will be able to apply for a STEP grant to cover up to 90% of the participation and travel costs.

- STEP 2: Complete your company/organization profile here.
- STEP 3: Complete a State Trade Expansion Program (STEP) grant application here* - this step is intended for For-Profit small businesses only; companies must meet SBA small business size standards in order to receive funding. STEP funding is available to reimburse qualified companies 90% of registration and other expenses associated with participation in this mission. Submit your completed application by email to Jessica.Steverson@la.gov.
November 2-5, 2021: In-person mission will take place. We continue to monitor the pandemic here in the U.S. and Mexico, working with our counterparts in the host state of Tabasco and neighboring participating states. Click here for preliminary program information.
The trade mission to Villahermosa, Tabasco follows previous missions between the Gulf States of Mexico and the U.S. that occurred as part of the Gulf States Initiative.

Registration fee covers program participation, including translation services, B2B meetings, ground transportation and scheduled meals throughout the in-person program. Airfare and hotel expenses are not included in the registration fee.
